Access to your medical records is permitted through the terms of the legislation. Please discuss this with the doctor or Practice Manager.

A leaflet from NHS Lothian "Protecting Personal Health Information" a guide for patients is available from reception. This leaflet explains how the practice will use your personal health information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Suggestions

We try hard to provide a caring, efficient and friendly service for patients. If you have any suggestions for the improvement of our service to you, please write or speak to our Practice Manager.

Complaints

If you are unhappy or have a complaint about any aspect of the care you have received from us, please write to or speak to our Practice Manager. The Practice operates the standard NHS practice based complaints procedure in such circumstances. An Information Leaflet is available from reception.

Rights & Responsibilities

All staff at this Medical Practice are committed to working together to provide the best possible care for you, our patients.

However we need you to work together with us to achieve this aim. You have an important role in the partnership of care that exists between us. If you accept the responsibility as a patient we can help you to get the most from the medical care and facilities that are available here.

In the same way that you have a right to join the Practice of your choice, we have the right not to accept patients or to remove patients from our list if we feel that the Doctor–Patient relationship has broken down.

Violent or Abusive Patients

We adhere to the NHS policy of "zero tolerance" on violence against staff.

We work with NHS Lothian, Pentland House, Ground Floor, 47 Robb's Loan, Edinburgh,EH14 1TY, 0131 537 8423 who hold all information about Primary Health Care services in the area.
